Twinkul Beauty Academy Celebrates First Set of 34 Graduates in Landmark Ceremony
Twinkul Beauty Academy, a premier institution for beauty education, has held its maiden graduation ceremony for its 2026 Batch A students.
The event, held in Lagos on Monday, marked a significant milestone in the academy’s history, with its Visionary Founder, Dr. Mary Charles, expressing pride and joy over the achievements of the graduands.
A total of 34 beauty professionals graduated in a colourful ceremony that celebrated growth, skill, and dedication to the industry. The batch comprised six male and 28 female students.
The programme, sponsored by DPKay Groups, celebrated the graduates’ achievements and signaled the beginning of their professional journeys in the beauty and wellness sector.
In her address, Dr. Charles recounted her journey in the beauty industry, which began over 25 years ago. She noted that her passion for helping people feel confident and empowered inspired the establishment of the academy.
“Beauty is transformation. It is confidence restored. It is identity expressed. It is strength revealed from the inside out,” she said.
The academy, which offers training in various areas including esthetics, makeup, and skincare, has also introduced innovative programmes such as permanent makeup and microblading in Nigeria. According to Dr. Charles, the institution has produced skilled professionals who have gone on to win awards and gain recognition.
“Over the past months, I have watched you grow. I have seen hesitation turn into confidence. I have seen practice turn into precision. I have seen passion turn into purpose. That transformation is why today is so meaningful,” she added.
She also highlighted the academy’s recruitment arm, Twinkul Beauty Recruitment Agency, described as the first beauty recruitment agency in Nigeria, which has helped secure employment opportunities for graduates in top spas across the country.
Dr. Charles urged the graduands to see themselves beyond beauty professionals, describing them as entrepreneurs, artists, and confidence builders.
“Skill will open doors. Consistency will keep them open. Character will make you unforgettable,” she advised.
The event received support from Prince Dele Akinola, CEO of DPKay Groups and Patron of Celestial Church of Christ KOK Parish, who was commended for his commitment to the academy’s vision. Dr. Charles expressed gratitude for his support, noting that it has created life-changing opportunities for the students.
Representing Akinola, Engr. Yomi Kuti encouraged the graduates to surpass their mentors. “If someone can invest knowledge in you and succeed, you can do even better,” he said.
Akinola, who chaired the valedictory ceremony, further urged the graduates to remain committed and uphold strong values. “Be more committed. Show gratitude and humanity wherever you go. Your beauty may open doors, but your character will keep you there,” he stated.
Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Beauty in Lagos, Ezinne Alfa, also spoke at the event, highlighting the value and complexity of the beauty industry. She urged graduates to take pride in their profession.
“Regardless of where you started, you are all graduating today with something valuable in common: a commitment to improving your craft,” Alfa said, noting that beauty goes beyond aesthetics to include science, hygiene, and wellbeing.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Mercy Okoro expressed appreciation for the training received at the academy, describing it as “detailed, hands-on, and inspiring.”
She said the programme equipped her with practical skills, confidence, and discipline, while instilling the values of excellence, patience, and professionalism.
The graduates also expressed gratitude to DPKay Groups for sponsoring the programme, acknowledging the role the organisation played in creating opportunities for them to pursue careers in the beauty industry.
